Clubhouse Generalists have generalist roles and share employment, community support, evening/weekend/holiday, and unit responsibilities. Central to this role is the energetic engagement of members in all aspects of unit and Clubhouse operations. Generalists utilize the Clubhouse International Standards as best practice and follow the strengths-based and person-centered models to facilitate member engagement. Before applying please read: http://clubhouse-intl.org/documents/communities_eng.pdf ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS (listing Position Specific functions first):  Engage in the work-ordered day, and work alongside members performing the tasks of the unit (kitchen and clerical).  Assist members with all aspects of community support services including employment, education, and housing.  Assist members to define their needs and formulate clubhouse goals and objectives through Person-Centered Planning.  Conduct Clubhouse assessments and complete all necessary clinical paperwork.  Evaluate progress on Clubhouse goals and work with members to make appropriate changes to support personal success.  Participate in social recreation and wellness activities.  Co-manage Transitional Employment Placements including TE development, training and coverage as a job coach.  Provide coverage on a rotating basis for evening, weekend, holidays and social activities. LICENSING or CERTIFICATIONS:  Must have licensure with the State of Michigan as a Licensed Bachelors Social Worker. Limited Licensed Bachelors Social Worker accepted.  Must maintain licensure. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.  One (1) year of experience in developmental disabilities or mental illness areas is preferred.  Working knowledge of mental illness, including previous relevant paid employment Positive, energetic, dynamic and engaging personality.

 Flexibility, as demonstrated by interchangeability with other staff on the unit, staying late or arriving early, if necessary, to fulfill unit or member needs.  Excellent organizational skills.  Team approach.  Must have valid Michigan driver's license. Carriage House (Indiana) Assoc. Director

Job Description

TITLE: Clubhouse Associate Director The Carriage House JOB SUMMARY: The Associate Director is a professional position with The Carriage House, providing services for adults with mental illnesses in accordance with the Clubhouse International standards. The Associate Director will work with the Executive Director to manage all Clubhouse programs, and ensure the highest quality Clubhouse Model program.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. ADMINISTRATION: a. Implement and ensure the practice of the Clubhouse philosophy and standards for Clubhouse International accreditation. b. Assist Executive Director in the hiring, orientation and training of new personnel, practicum students, and volunteers. c. Assist Executive Director in the fiscal management of the Clubhouse. d. Manage Medicaid billing procedures in compliance with state guidelines. e. Make decisions regarding the administrative functioning of The Carriage House in the absence of the Executive Director.

  2. STAFF SUPERVISION a. Assist Executive Director in conducting annual evaluations of program staff performance. b. Provide feedback to staff individually and collectively to build cooperative teams. c. Ensure timely completion of, and reviewing and signing, clinical documentation as needed.

  3. SUPERVISING FACILITATION OF CLUBHOUSE UNITS - Supervising and supporting unit staff and Team Leaders in the facilitation of Clubhouse units, including: a. Planning, coordinating, and executing daily work alongside Clubhouse members. b. Working collaboratively with Clubhouse members to complete all Clubhouse work and tasks and creatively engaging members in the work of the Clubhouse. c. Organizing, executing, and participating in some evening, weekend, and holiday activities. d. Assisting members in accessing needed community services and supports. e. Providing outreach to members who have not been attending Clubhouse. f. Providing support for members in identifying and obtaining educational goals. g. Actively participating in fundraising efforts for the Clubhouse.

  4. EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT a. Support members in reaching employment goals, including but not limited to working with members to develop resumes, prepare for interviews, and conduct job searches. b. Manage one or more Transitional Employment placements, which includes maintaining a relationship with the placement employer, learning the job responsibilities for the placement, training Clubhouse members in the job responsibilities, monitoring Clubhouse members in the placement, and providing coverage for the job when Clubhouse members are unavailable. c. Responsible for the development of Transitional and Supported employment opportunities. d. Assist the Executive Director in the management of Clubhouse employment programs.

  5. OTHER MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES a. Assist the Executive Director to build relationships with community partners to enhance the visibility and opportunities for clubhouse members. b. Participate in clubhouse conferences as a presenter and representative of Carriage House. c. Assist Executive Director with reporting progress of the clubhouse to the Board of Directors.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Executive Director of The Carriage House Supervises: Clubhouse Team Leaders and Unit Staff MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree with at least 4 years of experience in an Accredited Clubhouse. Attended Comprehensive Training at a Clubhouse International Accredited Training Base. Valid Driver’s License.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for facilitation of the Clubhouse Units, job development and placement management of transitional employment placements, working side-by-side with members, and planning and attending social events. The Clubhouse Generalist will work with members to ensure that their unit is operating effectively in accordance to Clubhouse International Standards and meeting set objectives. This position uses a holistic treatment approach in supporting Principles of Recovery for consumers based on the goal expressed in the person centered plan; assuring self-determination and fostering independence for consumers who experience chronic symptoms associated with mental illness. This position is also responsible for creating a Clubhouse environment that is committed to inspiring consumers to become independent, and self-determining in seeking solutions to the challenges of employment, housing, continuing education and community re-integration. Applicant should be energetic, eager to learn, and motivated to provide an engaging environment to clubhouse members. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in a health or human service field. Experience working at a Clubhouse accredited by Clubhouse International preferred, but not required. If no qualified applicants are found, an exception to the above qualifications can be made if written approval from MDHHS is received. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: All Clubhouse staff must have a basic knowledge of the Clubhouse Model acquired through MDHHS approved Clubhouse-specific training within six months of hire, and then at least one MDHHS approved Clubhouse specific training annually.
